| Annual, from short taproot,
often surviving winter. Leaves, mostly basal, with slightly
lobed divisions. Flowering stalks usually branched in
the uppermost part of the plant. Flowers yellow to orange-yellow
with five tiny teeth at end of outermost petals. Reproduces
by seed. Found from Pennsylvania south through Florida
and west into Louisiana. Also found in the West Indies.
Native to Southeast Asia. |
